2012 Recap: February

Only about 5 days in February stand out to me. One of my couples flew me to Hawaii to photograph their romantic wedding in Maui (it was so incredible!). At the time of planning, we weren't able to get Kent a ticket, as he was thick into a new semester of school. Thankfully, one of our best friends, Randi, was able to meet me on the isle. We only had 3-4 days in Maui and only one full day to explore. On this day, we drove along the coast, stopping by the coolest local farms to purchase fruit, then to the black sand beach, and we ended with a hike through a bamboo forest...

Ibiza | Part I

Okay, this is the part where I have to pause for a moment and remind myself that this really happened. In October, Kent, Danny (one of our best friends), and I boarded a flight bound for Barcelona. I was invited to hold a photography workshop on Spain's whimsical island, Ibiza, the last weekend in October, so we all decided to make a backpacking trip out of it. Kent and I backpacked through Europe a few summers ago and were excited to see some new and familiar places.  I'm still trying to find the right words to portray how incredibly awesome this entire experience was. There were so many new people and places, I'm going to have to do them all in separate posts. So, today, part I of Ibiza.

I still can't believe this trip took place. The workshop couldn't have gone better, the people were amazing, and the sites were breathtaking. Wish I had time to post more than one pic from each place we visited...but alas there will be more soon.

europe-bound

We're heading back to Europe this month! At the beginning of the year I was invited by Ana Lui, a photographer based in Ibiza, Spain to teach a three day photography workshop in Ibiza. It's going to be an amazing experience. Especially because my super-talented friend, Pam, will be styling our engagement and wedding shoot for the workshop! Can't wait.

So happy that Kent is able to come, along with our good friend Danny. We'll have some extra time to see a few familiar and unfamiliar places on our two week trip. Our number one choice would be to hike in Switzerland again. But we'll probably travel the way we did last time...without any big plans.
